Day 11 - Something people seem to compliment you the most on.

my hair :)

I originally grew my hair long to give to the people who make wigs for cancer victims. However my special cousin in the UK whom nursed her friend though her cancer (until took my cousins friend to be with Him) has told me that people arent so keen on real hair wigs as they are heavy and more expensive.

Shall have to find out whether this true here in NZ before too long.

I do like my hair and I think it has a huge difference that I have decided to grow it this time. I use to have long hair when B15 was a baby. His father believed that unless you had long hair you werent a real woman. I hated my hair then.

One of the reasons I like my hair long besides being able to do more with it is that it makes I feel more like my beautiful, supportive, loving sister :)

When we were kids I had long hair for a while and there is a photo somewhere of the pair of us on my uncles farm. If one didnt know the photo was of me one could easily think it was my dear sister

I think your initial intentions for growing your hair long are so wonderful. I've almost always had long hair, as I rarely go to the hairdressers and it's easy to tie back. Your doing so well keeping up with all these questions and sharing snippets of you. It's not an easy challenge. Good on you and have a great weekend :)

Yes, I do think your hair suits you longer. I can well understand that B15's dad liking long hair put you off it! After the way he treated you I think I would have wanted to shave my head out of spite to him!!!!

Certainly, Kate regretted insisting on having a wig of real hair. Since her own hair had been quite long at the time she first had chemo, she had the wig made with long hair and it was really heavy. When she had chemo the second time she had four new wigs of artificial hair which altogether came to a fifth of what I had paid for the one with real hair. They were light in weight and were so easy to wash and care for. You simply washed them in tepid water, laid them on a towel for a moment or two, gave them a shake and hung them on the shower head to dry. Job done.

I do like your long hair now, Jen. I'm keeping mine too and it's growing longer by the day. :D

I think the reason you like having your hair long- besides the fact that it makes you look truely beautiful mummy :D Is that you wanted to grow it. I had my hair short for several years and experimented on it with different colours and styles and now its gone long again im aiming on having it as long as it will grow :D next time you see me, it might be as tall as i am lol
