End of Year Post 2010

1.What did you do in 2010 that you’d never done before?

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I dont really make news year's resolutions I did join a couple of reading challenges and then didnt keep my record of them going

what Ive decided to do this year is what a bloggy friend of mine does and record once a month what Ive read for that month and then maybe review one of the the books for that month if it was really good

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

not really close however I have recently become a great aunt (Im concentrating on the great part otherwise I feel old lol)

4. Did anyone close to you die?

a dear friend at church :(

5. What countries did you visit?

none never been overseas

did go to New Plymouth and Wellington (briefly)

6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?

Im pretty content

7. What date(s) from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

maybe the Christmas visit from Sarah - we get on so well now - I LOVE her company

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year

making it into the top 10 sales person for Home Care for one week

9. What was your biggest failure?

trying to get my car out of that ditch - I couldnt - however if Id kept on trying it would have been worst

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

my sciatica has been troublesome

11. What was the best thing you bought?

the Cliff Richard ticket?

getting shoes on sale?

my walking shoes?

I know what the best thing that was brought for me!! my washing machine and my food parcels from my sister and bil

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?

Billy got 2 certificates this year 1 for volunteering at the SPCA and one for social studies

Daniel is usually a very good boy too :)

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?

Daniels dad :(

14. Where did most of your money go?

Rent

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

nothing really stands out

16. What song will always remind you of 2010?

I do like Just the Way You are by Bruno Mars whether that will remind me of 2010 only time will tell

nothing really I feel everything was in its right proportions

Im not the type of girl!!!

I dont watch a lot of TV

Hate is a strong word however I have gotten wiser to the tricks someone tries to play with me

Oh my shall I go and count the number of books Ive read this year??? I couldnt pick just one or two.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Bruno Mars and Nice Peter

28. What did you want and get?
I dont know whether I wanted it
I sure needed it
My washing machine
29. What did you want and not get?
I have 2 dreams - one is going to Wellington to see Te Papa ( the Museum of New Zealand) one is to own a lap top
30. What was your favourite film of this year?
I dont go to the movies a lot however it would have to be a toss up between
Inception and Knight and Day
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I was 40 and you can read about here
32.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
I am satisfied already :)
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010?
casual with a splash of dressy at times and always accompanied by accessories (sounds good doesnt it LOL)
34. What kept you sane?
my meds, my kids and my faith :)
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Ronan???
37. Who did you miss? my friend who died on my birthday and my sis
38. Who was the best new person you met?
one of the mothers at school :)
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2010.
I've learned that our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become

I've learned that two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different, especially if one of those people is a male

Snapshots 2010 - the year that was

January

Sarah came to visit :) And Spice decided he needed a holiday and took off for a few days - very worrying I still dont trust him when Billy isnt here

February

saw two of most favourite singers in concert
seeing one involved a road trip :)

March

I got a new washing machine via the Trust and always wonderfully supportive Granddad - this was after the old one leaked and made downstairs roof fall in

Billy burnt his foot badly with cooking oil

Went with the Sunday School teachers (of which I am one) to a Sunday School Teachers Conference and also saw a little bit of Wellington

April

I set to and made curtains for the kitchen and moved my plants in the hopes they would be watered more - the have done better here :)

During the school holidays I ran a preschool holiday program for the play group

and this was also the month that this happened

I am a worry!!! LOL

May

I finally got a weekend with Daniel - Id been busy before this

Daniel usually spends weekends with his dad

What with it being winter and being very rainy there were slips and some were just the road from us

I hit the BIG 40 !!!

June

There was an show at the local airport so Billy and I went along

July

Went to see Eduard Klassen in concert

August

went on a field trip with kindy

took Billy to a science road show

and Billy turned 15!!!

September

Billy and I went to Auckland for the weekend it was my daughters 18 th :)

October

As the weather warmed up again we enjoyed more family outings and Daniel had his school visits

November

Daniel had his farewell at kindy
bittersweet for me
He is growing up though turning 5!!!

School started off with a bit of a bump and a bruise though

Billy and I continued home schooling with a trip to the Surf Life Saving exhibition celebrating their 100 years

December

what a busy month this has been!!!
we visited the bed marathon the radio station had

Billy and I made our first ever gingerbread house, went on another home schooling trip to Splash Planet and went to Christmas in the Park

I helped on Daniels end of year school trip
His first school trip

Sarah came to stay for 2 weeks :)
We ended up having 2 Christmas Days :)

I was surprised at how much I had forgotten we did this year

a very good reason for keeping a blog :)

I highly recommend it :)

Lyrical Sunday week 1 Christmas

Christmas Day 2 part 2

Due to the mix up yesterday we got 2 Christmas days this year

Sarah, Billy and I went to the boxing day sales early

I spend the 2 gift cards I got on a new bra and 3 books :)

then while the older 2 were still shopping I went and picked up Daniel

wewent back and got the older 2

went home picked up the Christmas lunch of ham, sausages, chippies, biscuits, candy canes, lollies and roast veges and crackling which Billy cooked dinner last night to save time today

then we grabbed togs, towels, a couple of table cloths and Daniels bucket of sand toys Santa had left him and drove out to Waimarama Beach (about an hour away from us and with real sand and nice sea to swim in)

after a tasty lunch we did indeed play in the sea :)

when we got home late afternoon and after showers to get all the sand off we enjoyed chocolate steamed pudding, blueberries and ice cream :)

Christmas Day 1 part 1

ou may be puzzled by the title of my post

I feel as if I am having 2 Christmas days this year

which may actually foil my ex

he likes to upset me

more about that soon

we woke at the reasonable time of 7ish

after Daniel found and unwrapped the presents in his room from Santa

we moved into the lounge and took turns at unwrapping the presents under the tree

this forced the hurricane Daniel to slow down a little :)

I am a generous person and decided to give the ex a phone call as I was under the impression that we would be having Daniel all day as he had him last year

and this call would allow Daniel a chance to talk to his dad

misunderstanding had taken place and I cried in the bathroom unbeknown to Daniel

his dad was demanding that he have him from 1130 am on

we had had plans

however after rereading the emails we had sent each other

and consulting my sister and wise daughter I decided that I had indeed misworded my plans for today and that Daniel indeed must be with his dad from about lunch time on

Sarah again my beautiful wise daughter asked me if I was going to waste the time we had with Daniel crying in the bathroom or make the most of the time we had

thus we breakfasted outside in the sun and played with Daniel
