After packing in the early hours I couldnt sleep. Dropping D4 with his dad. Filling in the hours too. Finally it was time to leave. The flight was ROUGH!!! Even B15 who flies more than I do found it his worst flight ever.
Soon we arrived though and I saw my daughter :)
We made it via bus and train to the motel we were staying in for the weekend.
After unpacking we ended for the mall. My daughter works in the movie theatre there. B15 and my daughter watched a movie while I checked out the mall. I kept saying WOW!! I grew up nearby and remember the old army sheds that use to be on the site.
My Daughter is 18!!
After a comfortable night sleep we went back to the mall to set up a special room for cupcakes and birthday cake. Soon I was able to meet my daughters boyfriend and his family. I was impressed such a nice family :) After the celebration my daughter, her boyfriend, his older sister, B15, and I went to see
After the movie we hang around at the mall and I brought a few new pieces of jewellery
This morning B15 and I had a treasure hunt arounf the Mall my daughter set it up. We had a to answer certain questions about the shops in the mall. It was fun :)
Then we had lunch with Sarahs boyfriends parents bless them. They then took us to the airport. This saved time and $$. They also gave me a bag of clothes and makeup from my daughters boyfriends mothers work. BIG BLESSINGS TO THEM :)
We (B15 and I) spent the afternoon at the airport awaiting our flight home. We had a nice dinner in the international part of the airport. I CONQUERED my fear of flying :) :)
The key I decided was self talk that we were in fact going along a road that was fast and bumpy but just a road. I also read and concentrated on a magazine I got from the airport before leaving. So proud of myself :) :) :)

Wow, what a weekend! I am so happy for you. It sounds like so much fun and a lovely celebration of your daughter's Birthday. Well done braving the flight! I loved reading this post. The pictures in between work brilliantly. Glad to hear it was a successful weekend. Enjoy your new clothes, make up and jewellry! And most of all enjoy treasuring the happy memories. Best wishes, Sarah x
I am so glad everything went so well with the birthday, Jen and that you like Sarah's boyfriend and his family. Sorry, though that the flight up to Auckland was so rough. That was a very good way of conquering your fear on the way back.
Unfortunately, there is a blank square just below your account of Sunday and the computer won't let me bring up whatever the picture was. I'll check in a minute if it is on FB.
Thanks for the note I received this morning - I'll reply tomorrow..
It sounds like you had a blast! Congratulations on mastering flying, rough flights can't have helped.
Congratulations on overcoming your fear of flying! I love flying and has always been fascinated with planes. So glad you had a lovely weekend!
